White Night at Melbourne CBD – ResFest 2018

February 17 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

White Night returns to Melbourne in 2018. From colourful projections and awe-inspiring installations to interactive performances, puppetry and an array of musical hubs, there will be so much to see.

Below you will find information on White Night and how to get there, and get home, safely. If you are planning to attend, please make sure you properly plan your journey and travel with friends. It is important to understand where you are going and how the public transport system works.

Tips:

  • Make sure you know where you are going, before you leave, especially if you are new to Melbourne or Australia.
  • Have a plan and a meeting point – and make sure you are with friends when travelling anywhere for the first time
  • CHARGE YOUR PHONE – this allows you to search, call or text when you are returning home, and also let’s you have the most of your day/night out!
  • Move away from tense situations. There’s nothing wrong with giving yourself some distance if things get a little hectic.

So what’s on?

White Night allows Melbourne to come to life in a totally unique way. The Melbourne Museum is a great place to start if you’re not sure where to go first. There are also a number of incredible installations around the city that make for a terrific stroll around town.

Getting there

Public transport is an excellent way to access White Night Melbourne, and it will run all night, on all modes.

Click here to access Public Transport Victoria’s ‘Journey Planner’, a great tool for planning your trip to White Night! To make your journey even easier, you can download the PTV app for real-time updates.

NOTE: The two recommended ways to get to White Night are by tram or bus. By accessing the PTV links above, you can simply type in where you are (La Trobe University) and where you want to go (Melbourne CBD).
