Support your College. Support your Campus. This is City Vs Country.

City Vs Country is a popular event each year for residents living at La Trobe, and this year was no different. We had 3 full buses make the trip down from Bendigo, with our ‘country’ residents full of excitement as they got off the bus. Unfortunately, our Albury-Wodonga residents were unable to make it this year, but were there in spirit.

Women’s Netball

The day kicked-off with the Women’s Netball – an epic game that will be remembered for months to come. It was a quality showing by both teams and was great to spectate as it came down to the wire in the final minutes. Bendigo were victorious by 1 point in the end and were ecstatic when the final siren sounded. It was a fantastic contest, with everyone being really proud of the skill and sportsmanship shown by all.

Men’s Footy

The Men’s footy game is traditionally a  hotly contested match, with both sides wanting to take home the cup. It was a physical affair with plenty of passion being shown by both teams, resulting in some nail-biting moments. The Bendigo team were victorious in the end and we are already looking forward to next years game. We were very proud of our La Trobe men for putting on a great game of footy.

Women’s Footy

After the excitement of a close Netball game, the Women’s footy match was expected to be another close affair. There were some excellent moments, with a lot of skill being shown. After 4 tough quarters, the Bundoora Women came up trumps and redeemed themselves after the heartbreak of the Netball loss.

A fantastic day

We would like to give a special thanks to everyone who helped make this day possible, especially La Trobe Sport and the Accommodation Services teams from Bendigo and Bundoora.
